About

Most financial writing is either too simple to be useful or too dense to be read. This blog tries to sit in between.

I hold the CFA, CAIA and CIPM charters, an INSEAD MBA, and a Certificate in Advanced Risk and Investment Management from the Yale School of Management. On the technology side, I’m a certified IT expert and hold a Professional Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford.

What you’ll find here

Short essays on investing and technology: private markets, fees, risk, and what AI is really doing to the business of managing money. Each one starts with something ordinary (a pizzeria, a bathtub, a street magician) and ends with something you can use.

Who it’s for

People who own money, or look after it for others, and want to understand what they’re being sold. No finance degree required. If you have one, I hope you’ll still find something to argue with.

What it isn’t

Investment advice. The views here are mine, not my firm’s, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.

New posts go up on LinkedIn first. That’s also the best place to tell me I’m wrong.
